The length of treatment depends on the area being treated. On average, the treatments are completed in 10 to 20 minutes
The reduction in sweating begins to take effect in the first few days, but it may take up to 1 week to reach full effectiveness but the results are dramatic. On average, there is over 80% decrease of sweat production in that area that lasts on average 7 months. Remarkably, up to a third of patients can go 1 year before they return for more. Therefore, you are treated once or maximally twice per year and don’t have to worry about constantly treating the area.
Side effects, if they occur, are temporary. These commonly include minor bruising and swelling at the injection site. Other reported side effects include dry mouth, tiredness, headache, neck pain, and dry eyes.

Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a known neurological disorder (i.e. Myasthenia Gravis or Eaton Lambert Syndrome), allergy to the ingredients in the botulinum toxin formulation, specifically albumin, should
not be treated.
