Hyperhidrosis is the medical name given to the condition of excessive sweating. It is a common medical condition affecting both men and women equally and usually begins whether as a child or an adolescent. This type of sweating occurs on very specific areas of the body and is usually relatively “symmetric” meaning that both the left and right sides of the body are affected similarly. The most common focal areas are the hands, feet, underarms, and face or head.You can have one area affected or a combination of the above. The cause is unknown.
